Marathon Race (NROC Points earned)
For the Pro and Advanced skaters who would like to race against the clock for 26.2 miles (24 laps). 

Half Marathon Race
For the Pro and Advanced skaters who would like to race against the clock for 13.1 miles (12 laps). 

10K
For the Advanced skaters who would like to race against the clock for 10K (6 laps). 

5K
All ages of Recreation skaters are welcome to skate 3 laps around the track.

If you'd like an extra challenge, skate 2 distances:
    Marathon Race + 10K
    Half Marathon Race + 10K
    10K + 5K

timing

Chip Timing
All events will be timed using AMB Chip Timing Technology.  Prior to skating, all participants are required to check-in to complete a waiver and receive their assigned chip.  Participants will be charged $110 if their rental chip is not returned when done skating.

requirements

Eligibility
All 5K participants must be at least 5 years of age.

Waiver
All skating participants must check in and complete a waiver prior to entering the Fairfax County Police Department's Emergency Vehicle Operations Course.

Drafting & Etiquette
Cross-gender drafting is permitted. All slower skaters are requested to skate in the right side of the track to allow for incident free passing by faster skaters in the left lane.

Event Number
All participants must wear their event number on their left thigh to access the track.

Protective Equipment
All participants are required to wear a helmet and wrist protection. Knee and elbow pads are recommended.

Additional Safety Precautions
Headphones, skateboards, baby joggers, strollers and animals are not permitted on the track.

Personal Hydration
It is recommended that all participants bring their own personal hydration system (e.g. water bottle or Camelbak) or have supporters available to hand you water bottles.

Points
National Roller Cup (NROC): NROC skaters will earn points for the Marathon distance.  To learn more about NROC, visit the NROC website.

Awards
Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age category for the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K.

Pro Age Categories:  Pro Juvenile 9 & Under, Pro Freshman 10-12, Pro Junior 13-16, Pro Senior 17+, Pro Master 35+, Pro Veteran 45+

Advanced Age Categories: Advanced Juvenile 9 & Under, Advanced Freshman 10-12, Advanced Junior 13-16, Advanced Senior 17+, Advanced Master 35+, Advanced Veteran 45+, Advanced Grand Veteran 55+

Recreational Age Categories: Rec Juvenile 9 & Under, Rec Freshman 10-12, Rec Junior 13-16, Rec Senior 17+, Rec Master 35+, Rec Veteran 45+

Results
Results will be posted online by September 18, 2011.

weather policy

Inclement Weather Policy
The Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K will occur rain or shine.  No skating will be permitted in the case of lightning.  

The 5K will be canceled if the pavement is wet.

food & beverages

Breakfast & lunch beverages and food will be available to purchase from Java Cruiser.
